Taylor, Gaz Read and Kev Read started playing music together at the age
of 12, gigging extensively in the Midlands (England) doing Beatles songs,
blues and 50's rock n' roll. As they reached their late teens the first glimpses of their own material had surfaced and a new era had begun. However, their close friend and bass player decided to go to university choosing a 'proper' career instead of music, "no worries" but they needed a new bass player quickly. Andy Vickerstaff had briefly played in a band with Kev, and after a quick phone call Keeler were complete. This is the line up that will never change, you can bet your life, mortgage or whatever else you want on that. Keeler's first demo was recorded and the chemistry was evident, the sound right from the start was awesome. Things were looking good... only for a couple of events to occur which would slow things down dramatically. They signed a management deal that really turned sour. They were offered a recording contract by a major label that got screwed up when the management "lost the plot". This resulted in a long split, but it was never going to be permanent. They re-grouped, then disaster struck when Gaz came off his motorbike, breaking his back and various other bones. Fortunately he refused to be permanently injured and made a complete recovery. Keeler are now entering their strongest period, with songs coming from all the band members. Their material is better than ever, with top musicianship, awesome voice and above all, the killer hit single melodies are there in abundance. Keeler have labels fishing around them in the states right now. Looks like it's going to be a busy year for these guys.
